Description

The Wildcat Food Pantry uses a custom-built application to facilitate sending texts to Food Pantry patrons alerting them of new food shipments and other important updates. They typically communicate with 300 students that have opted in to receive text communications from the pantry.

Originally we planned to have them utilize the SMS text tools from SMS Magic, but due to support issues, we are likely to move away from their service altogether. TargetX offers an SMS tool that we would like to utilize for this application. There are several benefits to going this route:
-No additional licensing costs
-Can set up an inbox for the Wildcat food pantry that designated staff can manage
-1:1 text capabilities
-Application is part of a larger package that we already manage
-Application is already loaded in our production environment
-Depending on how it is configured, we can set the threshold to only send a certain amount of messages at any given time. This may allay fears about unauthorized groups texting students at large
