Connecting to a Kramer Via

Summary

Explanation of connecting to a Kramer Via in a classroom using Android, iOS, OSX, and Windows.

Body

If you are in a classroom with a Kramer Via, you can bring up your content on the display or projector by selecting the "Wireless" button on the controller. 

Connecting to Via

Join the eduroam network with your Android, iOS, or laptop device.

Using iOS or MacOS

If you are using iOS or MacOS (iPhone, iPad, or MacBook), bring up the control center to select screen mirroring.

For iOS (iPhone or iPad) follow the steps below. 

  1. Open Control Center:
    • On iPhone X or later or iPad with iPadOS 13 or later: Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
    • On iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen. 
  2. Tap Screen Mirroring:  mirroring icon

A new window will open with the available mirroring units on campus. Select the Via with the room name you are currently using.

After selecting the appropriate Airplay name, you will be prompted for a room code. The room code will be displayed on the display or projector screen. Once you enter the code, your device will appear.

Using Android

If you are using Android, go to the Play Store and download the Via Application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Activities.VIA

From within the application, you can connect to the device by typing in the room name or IP address that is displayed on the Via. When prompted, enter the room code that is displayed on the screen from the Via. Once connected, click “Present” to begin mirroring.

Via Android Screen

Using Windows/PC

For Windows, download the Via application from the device webpage. The webpage will be displayed on the wallpaper of the device.

When inside the application, use the room name to connect. When prompted, enter the room code that is displayed on the screen from the Via.
