How to use CatPRINTS

From a campus computer (Library, Lab, Center, and Housing computers)

• Print: from whichever application or web browser, select the standard option to print
  • Confirm that the selected printer is a CatPrints printer
    • CATPRINTS_BW on CATPRINTS for Black & White Printing (Most locations, 10 cents per page after student quota is reached)
      • Color Prints will only be seen at a Color Printer kiosk
      • Prints sent to this Black and White queue will change to Black & White if they are color.
    • CATPRINTS_Color on CATPRINTS for Color (Library 4^th floor, 27 cents per page after student quota is reached)
• Release the Print from a CatPrints printer kiosk

From a personal device

• Use a web browser to launch Web Print https://catprints.eprintitsaas.com/user/sign-in
  • Login
  • Upload files
    • Set Print Preferences
  • Release the print from a CatPrints printer kiosk

Release Steps

• 1^st time printing there is a step to tap your Wildcat ID and login at the kiosk to associate your card with your account.
  • Tap again to release your job after card association.
• 2^nd time and moving forward a single tap of your Wildcat ID will find your print job and allow you to use your quota, pay using your Wildcat $$ or in main library locations utilize a credit card.
• Anytime you do not have your Wildcat ID, you can use the kiosk to log into your account for printing.

Black and White vs Color Printing

• Color Prints will only be seen at a Color Printer kiosk (Library 4^th Floor, 27 cents per page after student quota is reached)
• Prints sent to this Black and White queue will change to Black & White if they are color.

What is CatPRINTS?

In January 2024, the Division of IT (DoIT) announced it would launch a centrally managed student printing services system, supported by IT Support Services, to improve the user experience for our students. This project was created in response to feedback from the IT End-User Survey, where students indicated that existing printing services on campus are too expensive, difficult to use, and unreliable. Although the implementation has been delayed, the solution will launch in locations across campus for the start of Fall 2024 semester

Key aspects of the project include: 

• Improved user experience
• consistent and easy to use across campus
• each semester, the first 50 prints are free ($5 value)
