Chico State Email Setup for Outlook Desktop App (Mac or PC)

Chico State Email Setup on Mac

This process should be used for opening an individual mailbox.
 
If you are adding a shared or delegated email, please follow the instructions on our Knowledge Base for Accessing Delegate Accounts on MacOS.

  1. Open the Outlook app on Mac.
    • If this is a first-time setup, you will be immediately prompted to sign in.
  2. If the sign-in window doesn't appear or if you are adding a second (personal) account, click Outlook in the taskbar, then Settings (or Preferences depending on your MacOS version.)
  3. In Outlook settings, click Accounts.
  4. Click either the plus (+) icon in the bottom left corner or Add Email Account on the right.

  5. Sign in with your Chico State email and password.
  6. When prompted, approve the login with Duo.

Chico State Email Setup on PC

This process should be used for opening an individual mailbox.

Outlook (classic)

  1. Open the Outlook (classic) app on Windows. 
    • If this is a first-time setup, you will be immediately prompted to sign in.
  2. If the sign-in window doesn't appear or if you are adding a second (personal) account, click File then Add Account.

  3. Sign in with your Chico State email and password.
  4. When prompted, approve the login with Duo.

Outlook (new)

Using Outlook (new) is not required at this time. Please note that some features from Microsoft are not yet available. 

  1. Open the Outlook (new) app on Windows. 
    • If this is a first-time setup, you will be immediately prompted to sign in.
  2. If the sign-in window doesn't appear or if you are adding a second (personal) account, click the View tab and then View Settings.
  3. Select Accounts, then Add account.
  4. Outlook may suggest accounts. If this is not the correct account, type in the email address you want to add.

  5. Sign in with your Chico State email and password.
  6. When prompted, approve the login with Duo.
