Introduction

Poll Everywhere activities can be shared with participants during a live class, meeting, or presentation. When an activity is activated, participants can respond through the presenter’s PollEv.com response page while the presenter controls when responses are accepted. This is best for synchronous polling where participants respond at the same time. Poll Everywhere allows one active activity per presenter at a time, which helps ensure participants respond to the intended prompt

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure:

1. You have created a Poll Everywhere activity.
2. Web responses are enabled for the activity.
3. You know your PollEv.com presenter response page.
4. You are ready to present the activity live to participants.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Share and Publish the Activity Live

To share and publish a Poll Everywhere activity synchronously, do the following:

1. Go to your Poll Everywhere activities page.
2. Locate the activity you want participants to answer.
3. Select the activity to open it.
4. Select Present to display the activity in full-screen presentation mode.

The activity is activated automatically when it is presented. Participants can respond from your PollEv.com response page while the activity is active.

5. Tell participants to go to your PollEv.com response page, such as PollEv.com/your-username.
6. Ask participants to submit their responses while the activity is active.
7. Use the presenter controls to lock responses, hide or show results, clear responses, or move to the next activity as needed.
8. To stop accepting responses, exit the presentation view or deactivate the activity.

Now the activity is published for live participation, and participants can respond during the time you make the activity active. When you move to the next activated activity, the PollEv.com response page updates for participants in real time.

Troubleshooting

• If participants cannot see the activity, confirm that the correct activity is active and that participants are using your PollEv.com response page rather than a direct response link.
• If participants cannot submit responses, confirm that web responses are enabled and that the activity is not locked.
• If a different activity appears for participants, deactivate the current activity and activate the intended activity. A single presenter can only have one active activity at a time.
