Week 16 - Finals Week Reminders

This message was displayed to faculty from May 11, 2025 to May 22, 2025 to share with faculty some finals week grading reminders and resources.

Greetings.

TLP has some friendly finals week grading reminders: 

• Offered extra credit? In Canvas, it can be complicated. To learn more, review your extra credit options.

• Missing assignments → zeros: Canvas will not calculate missing grades. Enter 0s or set a default grade for each assignment.

• Set letter grading scheme: If you want a letter grade to display, add your grading scheme in course settings to match your syllabus.

• Using weighted grades? Weigh your assignment groups to match your syllabus. You can put multiple or single items, such as an exam, into a group.

• You can also:

  • Override a student's final grade in the Gradebook. Note that students will only see the overridden grade in their grades. Many faculty prefer to leave the grade in Canvas as-is and make any final overrides in Faculty Center.

  • Use the notes column in the Gradebook for later reference.

Reminder: The grading period ends May 22 at 5pm. 

• Grading rosters available in Faculty Center May 9. 
• For Incompletes concluding after June 14, extend course access.
• TidyUP before you take off!
