The Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite, including LucidChart and LucidSpark, is integrated into Canvas to enhance the teaching and learning experience. This guide will walk you through the process of logging in to Lucid from Canvas, which is required before you can use Lucid in your courses. This connection allows you to create interactive assignments, collaborate on whiteboards, and engage in various activities directly within Canvas.
Prerequisites
- Instructor or student role in a Canvas course that uses or will use Lucid.
Step-by-Step Instructions
To start using Lucid in Canvas, do the following:
- Select Lucid from the course navigation in your Canvas course.
- Select Log in. A new browser tab will open for you to sign in to your Lucid account.
- From the available login options, choose Google and proceed with your Chico State Google account.
- After logging in to Lucid, select Connect to Lucid to link your Lucid account with your Canvas account.
- Your Lucid account will automatically upgrade to a free educational plan. Select Continue.
- To complete the connection between your Canvas and Lucid accounts, select Get Started.
- A new browser tab will display. Review the request for access and select Grant Access.
Now your Lucid account is connected to Canvas, enabling you to use LucidChart and LucidSpark within your courses.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues during the setup process with Lucid, ensure that:
- You are using your Chico State Google account when signing in.
- Pop-up blockers are disabled, as the process requires multiple browser tabs to open.
- Your course includes Lucid in the navigation menu.
