Managing your Canvas Course Homepage

This article will show you how to edit the Chico State Canvas course home page template and change your course home page settings.

Edit the Home Page

If you imported a Chico State Canvas template into your course:

1. Open your Canvas course home page.
2. Select Edit.
3. Replace placeholder text, brackets, and highlighted content with your own information.
4. Use Student View to verify links and content before publishing.

If you copied a previous course:

1. Open your Canvas course home page.
2. Select Edit.
3. Review and update outdated information.
4. Use Student View to verify links and content.

Change the Home Page

1. From your current Canvas Home, select Choose Home Page in the right sidebar.
2. Select the page or tool you want to display.
3. Select Save.

You can also select the Syllabus tool as your home page. The Syllabus page includes a Course Summary with due dates and events.

Troubleshooting

• If you cannot find all your courses, see Organize Your Courses on Your Canvas Dashboard.
• If no front page is assigned, the Pages Front Page option will be unavailable.
