Using MOVEit for Secure Data Transfer

Registering for MOVEit

The instructions below will help you to register to send and receive with MOVEit. You can also follow these steps to log in. 

  1. Navigate to the Cal State MOVEit site.
  2. Click Try Single Sign-On with SAML button at the bottom of the screen.

  3. On the next screen, choose Chico from the dropdown and you will be taken to the Chico State Shibboleth login page. 
  4. Sign in with your Chico State username and password, then approve your login with Duo. 
  5. You should now be registered and signed in to MOVEit.

Sending MOVEit Packages

  1. Once signed in, click Send Package.

  2. The next screen will look and act similarly to a regular email. Enter the email address of the person you are trying to connect with.
    • The person you are sending the message to must also be registered with MOVEit to receive your message.
  3. Create your message as normal, adding a subject, body, and attachments (optional). 
  4. Click Send and your package will be securely delivered! There will be a confirmation message at the top of the screen. 

Receiving MOVEit Packages

If someone sends you a message or replies to you via MOVEit, you should receive an email with the subject "New Package is Waiting". 

  1. Click the link at the bottom of the email. You can also copy and paste it into your browser. 
  2. You will have to sign in to MOVEit to receive the package. Follow the instructions above for Registering for MOVEit
  3. When you sign in, the received package should appear under the "New Packages" section. 
  4. If you need to view an older Package, select "Packages" on the left. You should be able to find older Packages in the Inbox.

Please note: Packages are only kept in MOVEit for 90 days. After which they are deleted and non-recoverable.
