Locate the numeric meeting passcode

If you're joining from your mobile device, you'll need to have the passcode ready. Here's how to locate it:

  • If the meeting invite was sent by email, select the meeting link from the email to join directly. The passcode will be encrypted in the link.
  • If the Zoom meeting is for a Canvas course, you can either ask your instructor for the passcode or check if it is posted in Canvas.

Join the Zoom meeting

  1. Open the Zoom app and confirm you're signed in.
  2. Select Join Meeting from the home screen.
  3. Enter the Zoom Meeting ID provided by your instructor or meeting host.
  4. Select Join.
  5. If prompted, enter the passcode for the meeting.

Troubleshooting

  • If you don’t sign in using Single Sign-On (SSO), you might still be able to join the meeting, but features like breakout rooms may not work properly.
  • Ensure that the Zoom mobile app is up-to-date, as older versions may not support all Chico State Zoom features.
