Adding a Course
- Navigate to the Student Center. You can do this using the link in the Chico State Portal.
- In the left sidebar, scroll to Enrollment and click Enroll in Classes.
- From the dropdown, select the term you want to enroll in and hit Search.
- You can optionally use the Subject, Course Number, or Keyword fields to narrow down your search.
- Clicking the Show Open Classes Only will only show classes with open seats, no waitlisted or closed courses.
- Once you've located a class, click the arrow > on the far left to expand the course description to review any requirements and Prerequisites or Corequisites.
- When you're ready to add the course, click Enroll at the bottom.

- If there is an associated Lab or Discussion section, select one and click Continue.
- You will be able to be added to a waitlist or set up an auto-swap course on the next screen.
- Click Save in the popup. You should receive a confirmation that the course was added.
Dropping a Course
Note: Students wanting to drop or withdraw from a course after the semester has begun need to contact the Office of the Registrar.
- Navigate to the Student Center. You can do this using the link in the Chico State Portal.
- In the left sidebar, scroll to Enrollment and click Drop Classes.
- From the dropdown, select the term you want to drop courses from.
- Click the check box next to any courses you want to drop.
- Click Drop in the top right corner. Click Drop again to confirm your selection.
- You should receive a confirmation that the course was dropped.
Swapping a Course
- Navigate to the Student Center. You can do this using the link in the Chico State Portal.
- In the left sidebar, scroll to Enrollment and click Swap Classes.
- From the dropdown, select the term you want to swap courses in.
- Locate the course you want to change and click the Swap This Class button. You can then swap courses by search, shopping cart, or the class number.

- Once the new course is selected, click Swap and the Enrollment options box will appear.
- You will be able to be added to a waitlist or set up an auto-swap course on the next screen.
- Click Confirm on the next screen to confirm the swap. You should receive a confirmation that the change was made.
