When you first join LinkedIn Learning, the application will ask if you want to connect your Chico State Learning account to your LinkedIn personal profile. This is completely optional. You do not need a LinkedIn profile to use LinkedIn Learning.
Why should I connect my profile?
You do not have to connect your Chico State Learning account to your LinkedIn personal profile. If you choose to, this may offer benefits later on. LinkedIn will be able to offer you personalized course recommendations based on your professional network, and you'll have the option of sharing course completion certificates on your LinkedIn personal profile.
Can I connect my profile after joining?
If you sign up without connecting a LinkedIn profile, you can always change your mind later on. You should see an option on the LinkedIn Learning home page.
Can I disconnect my profile?
If you want to disconnect your Chico State Learning account from your LinkedIn personal profile, please follow these steps:
- Log into LinkedIn Learning
- In the top right corner, click on the Me menu
- In the Me menu, click on Settings
- In the Settings menu, look for a section titled Disconnecting your LinkedIn account from your organization's LinkedIn Learning license
- Follow the instructions in that section
Once your profile is disconnected, you will have two separate accounts (your Chico State Learning account, and your LinkedIn personal profile), and both accounts will continue to function normally.
Note that your LinkedIn personal profile may receive emails from LinkedIn that encourage you to reconnect your account and/or purchase a personal license for LinkedIn Learning. You can unsubscribe from those emails if you no longer wish to receive them.
