Enabling Adobe Reader plug-in in Chrome

Symptoms

Occasionally when attempting to view PDFs with dynamic form content within Chrome, a user may experience the following error message: If This message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF view may not be able to display this type of document.

Resolution

This error is caused by Chrome using it's internal PDF viewer rather than the Adobe Acrobat plugin. The Chrome plugin is not able to open documents with dynamic form content, or if it does open it will often cause the forms to not work as intended. To fix this, disable Chrome's internal PDF viewer and enable Adobe's PDF viewer.

To disable the plugin, first go to the URL bar and type in chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments and then hit enter.

You should see a screen similar to the image below.
