Create a Canvas Sandbox Prep Course

Overview

It is helpful to have a sandbox course where you can collaborate with other instructors, try new course designs, etc. 

Instructions to Create a Practice Course 

1. From the Canvas global navigation men, select Dashboard.
2. From the sidebar, select Start a New Course. 
   
    
3. From the Start a New Course window, enter details for your course.
   You can use whatever name you want. Leave the content copyrighted for now.
   
    
4. Select Create Course. 
   By default, the practice course defaults to Modules. We will change that later on when we apply the Chico State template. 
   

By default, new courses do not have any template applied. Here are some possible next steps.

• Import the Chico State template and begin building and organizing your content. 
• Copy your existing Canvas content into your sandbox prep course. 
• Add other instructors to your sandbox course and start collaborating.
