How to Run a Report that Displays the Student's Activity within a Blackboard Course

  • This tutorial will show you how to run a “Student Overview for a Single Course” report within Learn. This will allow you to view an individual student’s activity within a course sorted by date. Data includes the total overall time the student spent in the course as well as detailed information about the student's activity, such as which items and Content Areas the student accessed and the time spent on each.

The report data is generally current up to the previous day.

1) Once inside your BB Learn course, locate the Control Panel on the left hand side of the screen.

2) Click on “Evaluation”. Once clicked, the Evaluation functions will be shown.

Under Course Management, Evaluation is highlighted.

3) Click on the first function “Course Reports”.

Course Reports is highlighted under Evaluation.

4) Then navigate through the different reports down to “Student Overview for Single Course”. It is the 6th report listed.

 5) Hover over the title and click the arrow to the right. This will show the run option. Select “Run”.

6) The “Run Reports” options will pop up. Under “Report Specifications”, select the student you would like to run a report for. Also choose a start date and end date for the window of time you would like to view the student’s activity in your course.

In Report Specifications the student selected, start date and end date are highlighted.

7) Then hit “submit” to run report.

8) Select “Download Report”. This will allow you to save the report to your local computer.

9) The report generated should look like this.
