Copying content from one course into another in Blackboard

With Course Copy, you can copy all of the content from one course and move it over to another course. A copied course is no longer tied to the original and changes in the original course will not appear in the copied course.

Wait Out The Copy Process

Copying a course can take from a few minutes to half an hour, especially if there's a lot of content. If you switch to the destination course and don't immediately see your copied content areas, exit the course and wait ten minutes before returning. Do NOT perform the copy operation again - you may end up with duplicated content!

Please unselect the Announcements, even if you have announcement to reused. The tool will still be available; however, the previous announcements will not copy over. The reason we advise to do this is to prevent an issue in which old announcement copy over incorrectly.

File copy options

Within the File Attachments section there are three options now. Most faculty should use the default, Copy links and copies of the content which will take only those files which are currently linked/deployed in the course, leaving behind old unused files. However, faculty who extensively link files through HTML, use Camtasia recordings, or need to continue using old files which aren't linked should choose the third option which indicates includes entire course home folder.

The three file attachment options are shown copy links to course files, copy links and copies of the content and copy links and copies of the content(include entire course home folder).

When you are finished, click Submit.
