Set Screen Lock - iOS

This article will cover how to add a lock screen to your iOS devices (iPhone and iPad), so that a passcode is required each time you unlock the phone 

Step 1:From your home screen, open the settings app.

 

Step 2: Scroll down and select the Touch/Face ID & Passcode option

This option will vary depending on what device you have.

 

Step 3: Scroll down to the 'Turn Passcode On' option and select it.

 

Step 4: Enter your new passcode

Choose screnn lock menu with none, swipe, pattern, pin, and password options

You can select 'Passcode Options' to choose between the following:

  • 6-Digit Numeric Code - Default option - Create a passcode with a combination of 6 numbers
  • Custom Alphanumeric Code - Create a passcode with a custom length combination of letters and numbers
  • Custom Numeric Code - Create a passcode with a custom length combination of numbers
  • 4-Digit Numeric Code - Least secure - Create a passcode with a combination of 4 numbers

 

Step 5: For each option you will be asked to enter your Pattern/Pin/Password twice in order to verify the setting.

*NOTE:  To change or remove your lock screen security in the future you will be required to input the password you set*
