Scheduling a Zoom Meeting

Scheduling a Zoom Meeting from the Chico State Zoom Portal

  1. Sign in to the Chico State portal. Alternatively you can go directly to www.csuchico.edu/zoom and sign in there. 
  2. From the left-side navigation menu, select Meetings
  3. Select Schedule a New Meeting 
  4. Enter a name for the meeting
  5. Enter date, time, and duration and whether it is a recurring meeting.
  6. Specify your meeting options, then Submit
    • Specify other options as desired.
    • Faculty, if you need help determining the best options for your class (breakout rooms, polling, etc), please contact the Technology and Learning Program 

From here, you can share the meeting and add it to your calendar, etc. 

Scheduling a Zoom Meeting From Canvas 

Canvas does have a Zoom integration that allows you to schedule meetings directly from the interface. You may find this helpful if you want to submit Zoom attendance or poll results to your Canvas gradebook. Faculty, if you need help determining the best options for your class (breakout rooms, polling, etc), please contact the Technology and Learning Program

Scheduling a Zoom Meeting From the Zoom desktop client 

  1. Open the Zoom App
  2. From the Home tab, select New Meeting or select Schedule 
  3. If you selected Schedule:
    1. enter a name for the meeting
    2. Enter date, time, and duration
    3. Specify your meeting options, then save.

Scheduling a Zoom Meeting From Outlook 

Outlook has a handy Zoom integration that enables you to create a Zoom meeting with the click of a button. 

Starting a Zoom Meeting 

If you are hosting the meeting, be sure you are signed in to your Chico State Zoom account using SSO so you have access to cloud recording and other privileges. 

From the Chico State Zoom Portal

  1. Sign in to the Chico State portal. Select Zoom. Alternatively you can go directly to www.csuchico.edu/zoom and sign in there. 
  2. From the left-side navigation menu, select Meetings
  3. If this is an upcoming meeting, hover your mouse to the right and select Start
  4. If this is your Personal Meeting Room, select the Personal Meeting Room tab and then Start.

From Canvas 

From the Zoom desktop client 

  1. Open the Zoom App
  2. Select Meetings.
  3. Select the meeting you want and select Start. 

From Outlook
